Established in 1954, the Ontario Food Terminal is the “stock exchange” for fruits and vegetables, where prices are determined by supply and demand and can change daily.

The Terminal supports local farmers, local fruit and vegetable stores, independent and chain supermarkets, retailers, restaurants, foodservice, caterers, farmers’ markets, farm gate markets, florists, garden centres, landscapers, convenience stores and institutions. For over 58 years, we have been at the forefront of the “buy local” movement.
The Ontario Food Terminal is the largest wholesale fruit and produce distribution centre in Canada, and the third largest in North America. As of March 31, 2012, the terminal distributes over 984,000 tonnes of produce annually (an average 5.4 million pounds per day).
Although we are not open to the public (wholesale only), with 5,000 Registered Buyers, 21 Warehouse tenants, 400 Farmers’ Market tenants and 50 Office Tenants we are Ontario’s source for fresh quality fruits, vegetables and horticultural products.
